In order to celebrate office birthdays, Peter is given charge of lavish monthly celebrations at the brewery, including the musical number “June is Busting Out All Over” with Leslie Uggams. However, these are quickly curtailed by the new manager Preston Lloyd (Peter Macon), who prioritizes productivity above all else. Peter responds by hosting covert gatherings a la speakeasies in an unnoticed conference room. He takes Marty McFly’s amplifier for a party, but because Preston’s office is nearby and the loudness smashes everything off the wall there, the noise gives him away. Preston dismisses him as a result.
Stewie, meanwhile, plays a practical joke on Doug by making him bleed from the nose, earning him a third strike and a one-day detention at the elementary school Miss Tammy brings him to across the street. He emerges a ruffian, taking his rage out on his family, and sees this as an actual prison. Chris is made to watch a kid’s show as punishment, and he threatens Rupert for not visiting him while he is being held. To Brian’s amazement, Lois is able to soothe him down with a bubble bath, but he still bears the scars of the encounter on his back. Opie, Stella, and the other employees stand by Peter when he arrives at the workplace to pick up his possessions. This persuades Preston to rehire him because he believes that if the staff gets to go out every month, they could be more motivated to work.
