Episode 1 | LASIK Instinct

Lois slaps Stewie’s playmate, Doug, by mistake as she drops him off at preschool. After learning that she requires LASIK surgery, she realizes that she is completely blind. Meg persuades her to record a video in which she discusses her feelings in an attempt to lift her spirits. Despite Meg’s insistence that she’s going beyond the intended goal, Lois uses the success of the film to spin it into a marketing campaign under the brand ICU. However, Lois tries to hide it when she wakes up one morning and finds she can see again in order to prevent her marketing from being ruined. Meg, though, grows suspicious when she manages to descend a flight of stairs without assistance.

Lois is given the opportunity to go on a popular talk program before she can speak with her about this. When Lois is able to distinguish the colors of a dress that she is trying to decide between, Meg’s suspicions are validated. Lois spills the beans on stage when she sees Reese Witherspoon carrying a large donation for her organization. In the meantime, the family offers to construct Doug a treehouse to avoid legal trouble as his own parents are too busy to care for him. Before long, they are drawn into more endeavors where Doug might use their assistance. Stewie tries to phone his father himself, but when the extracurricular activities keep getting in the way, they call his bluff. But they find out that Doug has been adding to their activities so he can spend more time with them, and he’s carrying his father’s phone. Chris and Brian both volunteer to piss in Doug’s shoes as payback for his showing up with his own father, who gives him the runaround so he can spend more time with his mistress. Doug and Stewie also decide to keep their animosity toward one another out of their personal lives.
